The version of you in the corridor

Every leader has a version of themselves that the team discusses in the corridor and never in the meeting. Sometimes it is a strength the leader underrates. Either way, everyone has the information except the person it describes.

The Johari window is a simple 4-pane model of self-awareness. The pack takes you through 3 to 5 short feedback conversations with people you trust, and helps you decide what to share and what to act on.

What is in it

  • A short introduction. Where the model comes from, and what the 4 panes mean.
  • Template A, your window. Open, blind, hidden and unknown, ready to fill in.
  • Template B, the feedback conversations. Who you asked, what you asked, and what was new.
  • The user guide. 8 steps, with 5 questions to choose from and guidance on listening.

Nobody scores you. You choose who to ask and what to share.

Who is it for

Three readers with a change they want and have not yet made.

The senior leader

People tell you less as you go up. This is a structured way to ask.

The newly promoted

Former peers now report to you. Worth knowing how that looks from their side.

The founder

The team has grown past the point where everyone tells you everything.

Want to talk your feedback through?

Feedback is easier to hear than to make sense of. A coach can help you sort what is useful from one person’s view, and decide what to do about it.
